Gosiger Reports from the 2013 Precision Machining Technology Show

High Volume

According to Mark Walker of Gosiger High Volume.

“Attendance at both the 2013 PMTS conferences and in exhibitors’ booths was up significantly this year.”

“The people we talked to were looking for specific ways to improve their manufacturing efficiency with Nomura Swiss-style turning machines and Shimada cam-free multi spindle machines. Many also wished to learn more about the Autor attachments and CNC retrofits that can improve the performance of their existing equipment. Since many of the visitors are contract CNC screw machine shops, they were looking for versatile products for a wide range of applications spanning industries from aerospace and automotive to medical products.”

One of the most sought-after products was the iFP Kleen Power vacuum parts washer. Mark Walker continued to explain...

“I was a little surprised at how much interest we had in this product,”

“Unlike a CNC machine tool or related accessories that actually produce parts, these washers, although necessary, are not a shop owners favorite place to invest capital dollars. I think this speaks well for the economic recovery and American manufacturing, in that these CNC machine shops are willing to invest in this kind of equipment.”

“Most of the customers expressed a keen interest in the environmentally-friendly features of the machines. Unlike other systems, iFP Kleen Power cleans baskets of parts in a sealed chamber using hydrocarbons or modified alcohol-based solvents that are internally recycled through a distillation process, so the environment is protected and users save money by recapturing and reusing the cleaning solutions. They also save money by eliminating the need to dispose of spent solvents or aqueous cleaning solutions containing oil and other contaminants. Not to mention that the system thoroughly cleans complex parts such as those with ID threads, blind holes and cross holes, by applying programmable spraying, immersion, submerged jets, ultrasonic and vapor cleaning methods either statically, or along with oscillation or rotation.”

Gosiger product specialists and applications engineers are working with the customers they met at PMTS to come up with new and better ways to improve their manufacturing processes. They’re ready to help you, too. So contact Gosiger today.
