Gosiger Has An App For That

Machining Apps 3One of the outstanding but often overlooked benefits of the Okuma THINC OSP control, is that users have the ability to develop custom software applications in Visual Basic that can save a great deal of time and labor.

For those customers who don’t have the time or ability to write such programs, Gosiger can create custom apps for virtually any purpose. Recent examples and other possible Apps include:

  • An app to monitor chuck pressure that displays pressure readings on easy-to-read gauges.
  • A monitoring app that tracks the progress of a part program in real time.
  • A probing app that allows the operator to select the geometry shape and input data required to create code for work piece set-up. The app then writes the MDI line-code for you to execute.
  • An app for automatically loading a program into the control by selecting the appropriate parts image on the controls display.
  • An app that calls up set-up videos or instructions for assisting the operator at the machine for the correct job.
  • An app that uses a barcode reader to identify part programs and automatically load the program in the control.

The possibilities are virtually unlimited. So if you’d like to take advantage of this unique capability, contact Gosiger today. And if you’re planning to attend IMTS 2012 in September, you can bring your questions to Gosiger’s booth, S-9266. Gosiger staff will also be on hand in Okuma’s booth, S-8500.
