Large horizontal milling and boring machines with the ability maintain extremely tight tolerances and overall geometric accuracy. ALESAMONTI machines are designed and built for long term performance and reliability. ALESAMONTI is also involved in the SOMMACT Project and additional information on this innovative project and a link to the project website can be found at the bottom of this page

SOMMACT Project
ALESAMONTI, an Italian builder of milling, boring and drilling machines, is the coordinator of the SOMMACT Project (Self Optimizing Measuring MAChine Tools), a research project established under the EU Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7). SOMMACT develops and validates innovative production hardware and control systems based on understanding, evaluating and controlling the performance of large machine tools in a production environment. The SOMMACT project was initiated in September 2009 and the first progress report is available now. A summary of the first progress report is available in the download area "Publications".
